01more about the three servicesSetup
Intimidating? It's actually really simple. Providers start around $4 a month. Get a domain or use your existing one.
No domain of your own? The installer will help you set up a free DuckDNS subdomain instead.
Copy the install command to run the interactive installer. Answer a few questions, the installer does the hard, scary stuff for you.
docs.qnch.network has step by step instructions. You can do this, we believe in you.
Use your dashboard to onboard onto the network. You're ready to upload and publish your work; no platform permissions or distributor headaches.
The artist dashboard has everything you need to publish and monetize your music without subscriptions.

Revenue split
Station is launching with zero rev share. You keep all of your income.
Nobody has built music distribution this way before, and taking a chance on something unproven should be worth more than showing up once it's safe. So the advantage is built in, not promised.
As Station grows, the rate for artists joining later can rise. Yours doesn't move — whatever your split was on the day you started is the split it keeps, permanently. The earliest artists hold the best terms anyone will ever have.
The protection isn't that we promise not to raise your rate. It's that we can't.
FanSociety
Though accessible, subscriptions are not durable. We landed on a simple solution that runs on chain, which means a one time donation can also timestamp when a fan discovered an artist.
It's an onchain solution but not an artificial scarcity NFT drop that the mainstream saw right through. FanSociety uses a concept of generations. When a patron makes a donation, they get an on chain receipt that we call a 'FanPin'. FanPins are digital proof of when you discovered the next cool band. This form of social currency already exists in the minds of music fanatics, it just was never made this concrete, until now.
The social contract between a fan and an artist already exists. FanSociety just records it somewhere neither party can edit later.

No recommendation engine. No browse page. No directory.
Streaming platforms didn't only take over hosting, distribution and payment. They took over discovery, and recommendations.
Station isn't aimed at replacing this model, but at breaking it apart and redistributing it. Reviewers, critics, DJs, blogs, record shops, magazines. There's little room for them if a platform does it all. Station doesn't compete with these essential parts of music culture.
Fans find artists two ways: they search your namespace, or they open a link you sent them.
beta.qnch.network/artist/your-namespace Artificial intelligence
Love it or hate it, AI music is upon us. Station has a simple solution.
Because Station lacks a recommendation engine you'll never be duped into consuming AI music unknowingly. A sovereign music streaming network means that anyone can pay to generate AI music and host it on a server they own. Anyone can pay to listen to AI music at their discretion. Users will only encounter AI music when they search for it. So rather than attempting to enforce an AI policy, Station lets the responsibility land on the consumer.
